About

Hello, welcome to my web page. My name is Marc Jones and I currently reside in Toronto Ontario.torontoI currently work for Dixe X-Ray Associates in Toronto Ontario as a Nuclear Medicine Technogist.  I’ve lived in Toronto since February 2007 so I’m still fairly new here (I still hold doors open for people).  I am having a great time in Canada’s largest city but I miss the simple life of a smaller city.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

  1. Thanks, always good posts on your blog!

  2. i’m an undergrad student at University of buffalo which has a nuclear medicine program. i’m applying into the program but john hopkins offers a shorter certificate program. Do you think i should get a BS in nuclear medicine or a certificate from a certified program. Does your level of education affect a person’s salary? do you have any idea how the job market is? any advice would be appreciated. hope to hear from you soon.

  3. need to find out about relocation from the usa and if I need to take any othe exams in order to work in canada I hold a certificate as a nuclear medicine tech

  4. Hi Angel, you would need to sit and pass the Canadian exam before you were allowed to work in Canada. I’ve been told it’s about 10 times harder then the one in the USA so study up. The link you need is http://www.camrt.ca

    Best of luck
    Marc

  5. Hi Marc,

I’m applying to a radiology program simply because there isn’t a nuclear med program here in charlotte. Then after a year I’ll go ahead a do the nuclear medicine. I already have a BS Chemistry and an MBA.
I know that MCG (Medical College of GA) has a semi online program, but its too long, and cost a lot. Do you know of any other online programs?
Starting out in Rad, I think is a good move. What do you think?

  6. Hi Marc!

I finished a 3 year radiology program in my country. And now I work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologists at institute of oncology (Im still a trainee). There is no need for any aditional certificate to work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist here. Students are qualified for the job when they finish the radiology program (university) and have 9 months of traineeship on nuclear medicine ward. Im from europe and i was wondering what would one need to come work in Canada or U.S.? Would i have to obtain some kind of certificate? Or would my degree from here suffice.
